New arrangement of email addresses and forwarders

Email and table view

You can choose between two views under «Email addresses»:

  • Email view (account view) → The email accounts are listed here (email address, mailbox and email aliases) and the email forwarders in the section underneath.
  • Table view (mailbox view) → Here you will see a list of mailboxes and the links between email addresses and mailboxes in the section below.

The following section explains the new email view.

As you can now use your email address to log in to a mailbox, instead of the «web» number as before, please note the following:

Email forwarding has been reorganised. There are two separate structures:

Multiple email forwarders to one mailbox

If you had multiple email forwarders directing emails to a single mailbox, one of these email addresses was defined automatically as the main address and the other email addresses were defined as aliases.

Example (old):

Email forwarding to internal mailboxes and to at least one external email address

If you had an email forwarder directing emails to internal mailboxes and to at least one external email address, one of these email addresses was automatically set as the main address; the internal email addresses were set as aliases, and the external email addresses as forwarding recipient.

Login with an email alias not possible

If an email address is listed several times as an email alias for various other email addresses, it cannot be used to log into Webmail or with an email program.

Instead, use the relevant main address or log in with a different alias that has only been used once.

Old Hoststar Webmail («Horde») login

You can continue using the old Hoststar webmail system («Horde»). Login instructions can be found here.
