The encryption of data on the Internet is becoming increasingly important. In particular, sensitive data such as credit card numbers, access or address data should always be transmitted in encrypted form so that they cannot be tapped by third parties.
The Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol or its successor the Transport Layer Security Protocol (TLS) protects your website and offers your customers more security thanks to the following functions:
- VEncryption of confidential data during online transactions.
- The certificate confirms that you are the owner of the domain (DV1).
- The SSL/TLS certificate contains information about the owner of the certificate (OV2 und EV3).
- The certification authority verifies the identity of the certificate owner (OV2 und EV3).
By default, a free FreeSSL certificate is generated and installed by Let's Encrypt for all domains and subdomains.
