Activating and Using StandardSSL
If you have ordered a standard SSL certificate and now want to activate and use it for your hosting subscription, look in the «Domains» section for the domain for which you have ordered the certificate. With this domain or an associated sub-domain it is possible to access your hosting via «https://» SSL secured.
Click on the «arrow symbol» next to the corresponding domain and then on «Subdomains».
In the pop-up which has now opened, you can specify a forwarding type and in the section «SSL configuration» you can activate the «Activate SSL» by checking the box.
The following optional setting options will now be displayed:
- Automatic redirection to HTTPS If this option is activated, every call to the StandardSSL (sub-)domain will be redirected from http:// to https:// . This is useful if you want to make sure that all calls to this (sub)domain use an SSL secured connection.
- Set up as SSL main (sub)domain If this option is enabled, this (sub)domain will be considered as the main (sub)domain of the installed StandardSSL Certificate. When calling the IP address of the StandardSSL certificate in an Internet browser, the content of this (sub)domain is displayed. The IP address of the StandardSSL certificate can be found in the corresponding DNS settings after installing the certificate.
Do not forget to «Save» your settings.
When editing other (sub)domains, you now also have the option to activate SSL. Please note that modern Internet browsers will issue a certificate warning when you call the respective (sub)domain via https:// with SSL security, because with StandardSSL the effective SSL certificate is only valid for one (sub)domain.
Activate and use PremiumSSL

When calling the IP address of the PremiumSSL certificate in an Internet browser, the content of this (sub)domain is displayed. The IP address of the PremiumSSL certificate can be found in the corresponding DNS settings after installing the certificate.

When editing other (sub)domains, you now also have the option to activate SSL.
