Swisscom changes port for SMTP server (outgoing email server).


Swisscom began to block port 25, which was previously used for outgoing emails in its network, due to the huge number of spam messages per day.
(Further information on the Swisscom website at: www.swisscom.ch)

Because of this, the SMTP server should be assigned to port 587 so that sending emails continues to work without any problems!

If problems should arise with sending emails and your Internet provider is Swisscom, make sure that the following modifications have been correctly made:

- change of the port from 25 to 587 for the outgoing email server
- activation of the SMTP authentication: go to link --> Support/Email account setup

If problems with sending emails continue in spite of these settings, please contact Swisscom Support (0800 800 800).
